Our vision for ICT is...
Strategy 1: Students have the confidence and capability to call upon appropriate learning tools to select, use and create digital content that contributes to their learning. Students will be able to communicate and collaborate with the global learning community.
Outcomes:
Students have the skills to question, find and discern information in order to create and share new knowledge.
Students can think creatively and critically when engaged in developing digital content.
Students will have the ability to communicate and collaborate with the wider community to build and share quality learning.
By becoming reflective learners, students will be able to assimilate new learning, relate it to what they already know, adapt it for their own purposes and translate thought into action.
Students see what they are doing is relevant and take greater ownership of their own learning.
Strategy 2: Teachers have the confidence and capability to effectively integrate e-Learning into their professional practice.
Outcomes:
Teachers will make strategic and deliberate choices about the use of ICT to enhance learning.
Teachers communicate and collaborate to expand the community of learners and enhance the quality of learning.
Teaching and learning will be made more effective and efficient by using tools that aid preparation, assessment and reporting.
Over time students will develop their creativity, their ability to think critically about information and ideas, and their ability to think about their own thinking (metacognitive ability).
Teacher aides will feel supported in their growth and use of digital technologies.
Goal 3: Will be aware of current teaching pedagogy, future direction and plan strategically to meet the needs of all learners.
Outcomes:
Leadership will provide Teachers with release time to view effective practice in other schools.
Teachers can see evidence of leadership using 21st century learner tools to facilitate learning and discussion.
Blog maintained to update and inform parents and wider community.
